Claudia Hernandez-Armenta

Studied at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (CCG-UNAM), obtained bachelor degree on Genomic Sciences. After graduation, worked in the fields of Nutrigenomics and Computational Biology at the INMEGEN; there learned to analyze microarray gene expression data. In 2012, enrolled to the program of Applied Statistics (IIMAS-UNAM) to study data analysis techniques that could be used in genomic research. Final project consisted in developing a method to evaluate the quality of genotyping profiles obtained with SNP-microarrays. Interest to study how cells make decisions motivated me to do an internship in Julio Saez's group where he analyzed protein phosphorylation profiles to study the crosstalk between signaling pathways in yeast. As a PhD student in Pedro Beltrao's group, using mathematical models to infer the regulatory mechanisms involved in signal transduction that give rise to phenotype variability. For this purpose, are analyzing protein-phosphorylation modifications.
