Dr. Wajeeha H. Awadh

Wajeeha is a FinTech and digital banking expert. At Al Baraka Banking Group, she is currently working on several digital banking and FinTech projects as part of the digital transformation vision. Wajeeha has also been part of Strategic Planning Department and Sustainability and Social Responsibility Department, and worked on projects including the establishment of a new Islamic bank in Morocco, group wide product intelligence system, group wide sustainability reporting, and integrating United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with Al Baraka Sustainable Development Goals.

While Wajeeha was pursuing a doctoral program at Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation., her research focused on the adoption of Shariah Compliant P2B financing platforms by SMEs. Wajeeha is also a member of Women in FinTech Network Bahrain (WIFBH) and she is part of FinTech Ecosystem and Talent workgroups in Bahrain FinTech Bay, the largest FinTech Hub in MENA region.

Wajeeha has contributed to designing FinTech courses for Asia Pacific University in Malaysia and she is regularly invited to speak at FinTech and Blockchain events.
