Carl Fletcher

Carl Fletcher obtained his 1st class BSc (Hons) in Forensic Science from the University of Kent in 2014 and He has recently completed his PhD from the University of Liverpool. His PhD project involved the development of ambient ionisation sources for mass spectrometry, mainly for the analysis of drugs and explosives, where He developed a dielectric barrier discharge ionisation source. During these educational stages, He has gained industrial experience and worked within a forensic environment using mass spectrometry, GC/MS, GC/FID, FTIR and more. His previous role was with Mass Spec Analytical Ltd where He was responsible for the scientific R&D for trace detection of analytes. He now work for Dstl in the division of Counter Terrorism and Security.
