Dave is a Physical Scientist with NASA Langley Research Center's Science Directorate. He provides international project management and geospatial analytics solutions, supporting the NASA Applied Sciences Disasters Program as NASA Langley Research Center’s Lead Disasters Coordinator. He serves as GEO Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) WG Co-Chair and CEOS WGDisasters Secretariat. United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) WG-Disasters Member. United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Global Risk Assessment Framework (GRAF) Working Group Member. GISCi Certified GIS Professional (GISP). PMi Certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Previously he was an Associate with Booz Allen Hamilton. He is passionate about and dedicated to solving complex disaster related issues on a global scale through application development and geospatial enablement of Earth observation (EO) information leveraging global policy frameworks, such as the UNDRR Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and UN-GGIM Strategic Framework on Geospatial Information and Services for Disasters. Group on Earth Observations (GEO) is an international partnership of governments and organizations working towards a future where decisions and actions for the benefit of humankind are informed by coordinated, comprehensive and sustained Earth observations (EO). Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS) is a mechanism to coordinate civil space-based EO programmes globally and promote data exchange for society's benefit, and to inform decision-making to secure a prosperous and sustainable future for humankind. The NASA Disasters Program promotes the use of Earth observations to improve prediction of, preparation for, response to, and recovery from disasters. He supported the creation of a Disasters Mapping Portal, which allows the Program to provide value added, geospatially enabled science data to end users during the entire disaster life cycle.
