Makhan Virdi
Makhan Virdi is a seasoned geoinformatics and data scientist, experienced in leading teams for creating geospatial tools and services for science-based analysis, visualization (UI/UX), discovery and distribution of data using various programming techniques and frameworks for data generated by field/laboratory observations, remote sensing and model simulation. Experienced in working directly with stakeholders including the international scientific community for collaboration, support, feedback, outreach and training. Currently working as a Senior Research Scientist at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) for the Atmospheric Science Data Center (ASDC DAAC). As the DAAC scientist, He provide scientific direction and programmatic support to the center. It also involves acting as a liaison between the science teams for NASA atmospheric science missions, our center, and the scientific community. Currently leading a team of engineers, developers, and scientists, for the Cassiopeia project, to create the next generation web application and toolsets for the data acquired from NASA’s airborne field campaigns.
