Alissa Haddaji
Dr. Alissa J. Haddaji is a faculty researcher and lecturer in space law, policy and sociology of space at Harvard University, founder of the Space Consortium at Harvard & MIT and Space Week at Harvard. She also serves as the lead coordinator of the STSC SMPAG Ad-Hoc Legal Working Group on Planetary Defense, as the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) representative at SMPAG and Member of the International Astronautical Federation's Near-Earth Object Committee. Prior to her Planetary Defense work, Alissa served for four years as COSPAR’s Planetary Protection project officer, where she led the coordination of, and co-authored the International Planetary Protection Handbook (IPPH).
She is a member of the International Institute of Space Law (IISL) and Women in Aerospace (WIA) association. She has a BA in International Relations & Law and MAs in Law, History, Science and Technology Studies and Socio-Anthropology as well as an MS in Planetary Science. She defended her first PhD dedicated to International Natural Disaster Management applied to Planetary Defense in 2019 and is currently finishing her 2nd PhD at Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS), Paris on International Space Politics. Experience & Education in Space Policy & Space Law, Science and Technology Studies, Space Oceanography and Planetary Science, Ethnography, Scientific Communication & Outreach and American History and International Relations.
