David Heeger

David Heeger is a professor of psychology and neural science at New York University. Though his research also spans engineering and psychology, his work in the field of neurology focuses on the neuronal processing in the visual system, and has resulted in theories for how the brain can sense optic flow and neural motion. Heeger’s research has led to a better understanding of the organization of the visual cortex, visual awareness, visual pattern detection, motion, and depth perception.
