Daniel Joseph Levitin

Daniel Levitin is a psychologist and neuroscientist best known for his work with the relationship between behavioral neuroscience and music. Levitin is the author of two bestselling books, “This is Your Brain on Music: The Science of a Human Obsession” and “The World in Six Songs: How the Musical Brain Created Human Nature.” As a professor of Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience at McGill University in Montreal, Levitin is the Director of the Laboratory for Music Perception, Cognition, and Expertise. In 2013, Levitin was elected to the Royal Society of Canada.
