Karen S Puah is the Head of PR and Communications for Razer Fintech. Her role in articulating the company's desired image and positioning both internal and external at Razer, and will head the teams responsible for driving rapid market adoption of Razer's fintech services in South East Asia. Karen is a marketing and communication evangelist who believes in change; it is the only way to progress at every level. She practices the Progress Principle in her work and her voluntary contribution to the FinTech industry as the Vice President at Fintech Association of Malaysia, a non-profit organisation. FinTech Malaysia is the national FinTech Industry Association, consist of FinTech start-ups, VCs, Hubs and Accelerators/Incubators across Malaysia, and the organisation works closely with the International FinTech Community, Law-makers and regulators to create a more conducive environment for Fintech start-ups to grow and thrive. Since helping to establish FinTech Malaysia, her team continues to build and strengthen the foundation of FinTech Malaysia with these five pillars - talent, funding, go-to-market, digital innovation and business environment. They have co-authored submissions on fintech policy ranging from Open Banking, Neo-Banking, Licensing, ICO and Crypto regulation, AML/KYC, Digital Asset Exchange, Equity Crowdfunding, Peer-to-peer and Regulatory Sandbox in Financial Services. This saw the launch of Malaysia's fintech regulatory sandbox, a Digital Asset Exchange regulatory framework and a Recognised Market Operators regulatory framework. She is instrumental in connecting beneficial partnership for all involved; this includes making arrangements to meet with the regulators, key stakeholders, lawmakers and investors. She has led the Malaysian delegates in Taipei during their inaugural fintech festival and Asian Financial Forum 2019, Hong Kong to speak to keen industry experts on Malaysia's readiness to be a serious contender in the expanding the financial industry. Most recently, in Seoul, to speak at the inaugural Korean FinTech Week on 'Sandbox in Malaysia.' She holds an MBA from Asia-e University and completed the Digital Marketing Strategies program from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She also holds a Diploma in Islamic Finance from Chartered Institute of Management, London.
