Description: The AHSN Network comprises 15 Academic
Health Science Networks (AHSNs) across England, established by NHS England in 2013 to spread innovation at pace and scale. They support UK's health and care partners to deliver improvements that lead to better patient outcomes, drive down the cost of care, and stimulate economic growth. As the only organisations that connect NHS and academia, local authorities, the third sector, industry and citizens, AHSNs are catalysts working to create the conditions needed to facilitate change across whole health and social care economies, with a clear focus on improving outcomes for patients. Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs) are membership organisations within the NHS in England. They were created with the aim of bringing together health services, and academic and industry members. The UK Government has identified Life Sciences and Healthcare as important sectors to generate new economic growth as well as increasing the quality of care for patients within the NHS. Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs) present a unique opportunity to align education, clinical research, informatics, innovation, training and education and healthcare delivery. Their goal is to improve patient and population health outcomes by translating research into practice, and developing and implementing integrated health care services. They will support knowledge exchange networks to build alliances across internal and external networks and actively share best practice, and provide for rapid evaluation and early adoption of new innovations. AHSNs have been established to deliver a step-change in the way the NHS identifies, develops and adopts new technologies and are predicated on partnership working and collaboration between the NHS, academia, the private sector and other external partners within a single AHSN context and across AHSNs. AHSNs work collaboratively, identifying and supporting the successful development of innovations in our local regional healthcare communities and helping to spread these across our national Network. There are 15 Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs) across England, established by NHS England in 2013 to spread innovation at pace and scale – improving health and generating economic growth. Each AHSN works across a distinct geography serving a different population in each region. The AHSNs are:

Kent, Surrey and Sussex AHSN Network
North East and North Cumbria AHSN Network

South West AHSN Network

West Midlands AHSN Network
West of England AHSN Network
Yorkshire & Humber AHSN Network
The entirety of this network, including the 15 subordinate networks, connects NHS and academic organizations, local authorities, the third sector, the industry, laboratories, hubs, and other types of organizations. The support provided by the Academic Health Science Networks is direct public financing, as well as non-financial support; social and community support, academic support for research, support for business development, and supports of other characteristics. The 15 Networks are supporting an enormous diversity of for profit and non-for profit organizations, institutions and the community against the Coronavirus emergency; either by financing projects or providing support of other characteristics.

1. Programme: TechForce19 challenge
. Summary: AHSN Network has been working with partners PUBLIC and the NHSX to run the fast-track competition 'TechForce19 challenge' for innovators, creating a pool of technologies that have the potential to be rapidly scaled regionally and nationally. The funding for each project will be used to develop new ways to support vulnerable people who need to stay at home or need other help in the community for extended periods of time. More than 1,600 innovations submitted bids in response to the challenge. The companies benefited by the selection in which the Academic Health Science Networks participated are:
