As supreme federal authority the BMVI is responsible for all matters of transport and mobility as well as digital aspects within the Federal Republic of Germany. In Berlin and Bonn 1,300 employees work together in nine departments including Digital Society, Air Transport, Waterways and Shipping, Ground Transport and Road Construction.
