The role of the Surveillance Camera Commissioner is to encourage compliance with the surveillance camera code of practice. SCC works with the Home Office.
One 3 December 2020 the Surveillance Camera Commissioner released guidance for police on use of Live Facial Recognition. The guidance is for forces to follow when considering the deployment of Live Facial Recognition (LFR) surveillance camera technology.
