Skycorp Incorporated Company
Skycorp was founded in 1998 to developed advanced space technologies related to in space manufacturing, the on orbit servicing of existing spacecraft, and other systems technologies. Skycorp has as its clients NASA, DARPA, and major aerospace industry clients like Lockheed Martin and United Launch Alliance. Skycorp in its existence has been involved in many space projects including the first television commercial filmed on the International Space Station. Skycorp led a DARPA funded team to design an on orbit assembled extremely large telescope. Skycorp led a NASA funded team to design large solar electric propulsion spacecraft. Skycorp has also worked under contract to develop Lunar base and systems architectures and led a European team developing the world's first commercial vehicle for servicing spacecraft in geosynchronous orbit. That team signed the worlds first commercial on orbit servicing contracts in 2005 and in 2008. Skycorp also works with NASA in the discovery, recovery, and curation of space data such as the acclaimed Lunar Orbiter Image Recovery Project (LOIRP), winner of the NASA Ames Group achievement award for 2017 and the Frederick Ordway award for Sustained Excellence in Spaceflight History from the American Association for the Advancement of Science for 2017. Skycorp also rapidly developed and led a team to salvage and recommission the NASA ISEE-3 spacecraft in 2014, becoming the first private entity ever to rescue and recommission a spacecraft in interplanetary space. Skycorp is currently developing a line of on orbit assembled spacecraft for the commercial communications industry, focusing on large spacecraft in geosynchronous orbit as well as for exploration missions to the Moon and beyond.
