For an emerging country like Vietnam, space technology can bring practical benefits for socioeconomic sector such as in preventing and alleviating the devastating effects of natural calamities and climate changes, better monitoring natural resources, especially in marine resources, developing agriculture, establishing telecommunication infrastructure through satellites and its application, etc.
Understanding the importance of space technology in the advancement of the nation, the Government of Vietnam has approved “THE STRATEGY ON RESEARCH INTO, AND APPLICATION OF, AEROSPACE TECHNOLOGY UP TO 2020” in 2006, with the goal to better position Vietnam in the region.
