National Remote Sensing Centre is responsible for acquisition, processing, and supply of aerial and satellite remote sensing data. It develops technologies for the management of natural resources, supports disaster monitoring and management, and mandates capacity building for utilization of earth observation data. NRSC’s remote sensing centers located at Bengaluru, Nagpur, Kolkata, and Jodhpur and are responsible for acquisition planning, data reception, processing, and dissemination of satellite data from various Indian and foreign satellites; carrying out aerial surveys and extending large scale mapping services cartographic mapping and digital data services to the civilian sector; providing geospatial solutions to various user agencies; extending services to set up ground stations and processing facilities; and more. National Remote Sensing Centre was established in September 1974 and is based in Hyderabad, India.
