International Glaucoma Association (UK) NGOs
Formed in 1974, the IGA is the charity for people with glaucoma.
Our mission is to raise awareness of glaucoma, promote research related to early diagnosis and treatment, and to provide support to patients and all those who care for them.
To achieve this, we publish and distribute a wide range of free leaflets and booklets, operate a helpline (Sightline: 01233 64 81 70) and an informative website (www.glaucoma-association.com), organise regular patient meetings, produce quarterly patient newsletters and fund clinical research. Every year, we organise National Glaucoma Awareness Week during the 2nd week of June.
Our vision is to ensure that all people with or at risk of glaucoma have the knowledge and access to care that will enable them to maintain a good quality of life.
